MLC (2006) Familiarization

The MLC 2006 Familiarization Training Course is designed to provide participants with a deep understanding of the Maritime Labour Convention 2006, which was amended in Dec 2024, an international framework aimed at ensuring decent working and living conditions for seafarers worldwide. Participants will gain insights into compliance, certification processes, and the responsibilities of shipowners, flag states, and port state controls.

By completing this course, participants will:

  • Master the requirements and practical implementation of the MLC 2006.

  • Understand inspection and certification processes for ships.

  • Recognize the responsibilities of shipowners, flag states, and port states.

  • Learn how the Declaration of Maritime Labour Compliance (DMLC) operates.

  • Connect the convention with other relevant Codes and Recommendations.
